bohol birthday 2012

Published December 15, 2013 by ladyemelye

i have been to bohol several times, but hubby hasn’t.  so for my birthday vacation last year, we went to bohol.

we availed of the “bee happy” package offered by the bohol bee farm.  for php 8500.00 per person, it includes stay in ocean view room for 4d/3n, airport transfers, bohol countryside tour and all meals.  a body massage was also part of the package.

we were given the panglao suite to stay in.  it is a very spacious room with it’s own terrace overlooking the beach.  it also has a mini living room, mini kitchen complete with refrigirator and microwave, and a toilet and bath area.  although it was a little tiring to get to the room since it is located at the 3rd floor of the building. 😉

all of our meals are served in the restaurant.  the breakfast is served buffet style, while the lunch and dinner are served family style in our table.  lunch and dinner usually includes a salad, soup, 2-3 main dishes (which would be a variety of meat or seafood), pasta and rice.  drinks and dessert are also included.  the food comes from organic sources, and the taste is very flavorful.  we loved almost everything that they served to us that we are always full to the brim after every meal.  there was even one point where we just had our dessert brought to our room so that we can eat it.

our countryside tour covered the following sites: blood compact, baclayon church and museum, giant python and mini zoo, loboc river cruise, tarsier watching, man made forest, butterfly garden and of course, the chocolate hills.

after the tour, we also did some shopping for souvenirs and pasalubong.

the next day, we had the tour of the bohol bee farm wherein we saw the farms where they grew their herbs and vegetables, the livelihood of the women (weaving), how their products like the tea were made, and also a sample of a bee colony where they get their honey from.

some of the farm’s products include baked breads, squash muffins, pure honey, honey spread and other kind of spread, salad dressings and a lot more.  we got to take home most of these products.  we also loved their ice creams with unique flavors, especially the malunggay ice cream.  it is one way to make the children eat their veggies without them realizing it. 😀

we had a great time at bohol bee farm.  we were very relaxed and at the same time we enjoyed the tours and most especially the food. 😉
