hi-5 house hits in manila

Published July 23, 2014 by ladyemelye

the little boy loves watching hi-5.  he knows the songs, follows the dance steps and imitates whatever it is being done on-screen.

the hi-5 gang has already been here a couple of times before, but we were not able to watch them.  so when i read at ticketworld that they will be back this december, i was already on the lookout for tickets.

yesterday, i read a tweet from ticketworld announcing that the tickets are now being sold exclusively first to hsbc cardholders.

good thing our company’s payroll is thru hsbc, that is why i have a debit card which i can use.  in addition to being the first ones being able to purchase tickets (best seats are being sold fast), the hsbc deal also comes with an additional 15% off the ticket price.

this exclusive deal is available from july 22 – august 22, 2014.  tickets will then be available to the public by august 23.

i got our tickets last night! #superexcitedforthelittleboy

it’s a little sad that this is already the new cast as the little boy is more familiar with tim, fely, casey, stevie and lauren.  nevertheless, i am sure he will still enjoy.

so what are you guys waiting for, here’s how you can purchase tickets:

christmas 2013 family bonding

Published June 4, 2014 by ladyemelye

after christmas day, the family went to sm mall of asia for some bonding.  we decided to play bowling and then have dinner afterwards.

we arrived at the mall around 3pm, so first had our snacks at burger king.  afterwards we proceeded to the bowling center where we registered and waited for an available lane so that we could take our slot.

after for about 30 minutes or so, we were called.  went to the counter, paid for 2 games, got our shoes and then it’s game on.

it was a game of girls vs. boys.  since none of us are really bowlers, it was fun to watch our balls go nowhere.  everyone was really very excited if we are able to hit that occasional spare and the very elusive strike. 🙂

we also had some snacks of popcorn and fishballs while we were playing.

after the games, most of our joints were already aching since most of our exercises are actually limited to playing sports in our xbox 360 kinect.

so who won?

so who won?

despite our best efforts, it was the guys team who won our games.  it is a little disconcerting given that they had two children in their team. 😦

after going around the mall a bit, we went to have dinner at xin wang hong kong cafe.  here are some pictures of what we ordered. 🙂

we were satisfied eating at xin wang.  they have a great selection of hk fusion food, the prices are very affordable, plus the servings are generous.  service is just ok as there were times when we had to call again the attention of the staff for something that we requestd like service water.  but we would definitely back as the we got the value for money.

after dinner, everyone was already beat and ready to go home.  it was an enjoyable post-christmas family bonding. 😀

google authenticator

Published March 25, 2014 by ladyemelye

security is a must these days.  hackers are everywhere trying to get into your accounts – email, facebook, etc.  so in addition to the password/notification that google has if your account was accessed from an unusual notification, i started using google authenticator.

google authenticator is an application which you can download to your smartphone.  it generates random codes which you input after you login with your username and password into your google accounts.  it is a little bit of extra work, but it makes sure that you are the one logging in to your account.

how to activate this in your gmail?  simple steps:

  1. in your account, go to settings
  2. click on the account tab
  3. go to change account settings and select other google account settings
  4. click on security tab
  5. enable the two-step verification

you can also opt to have the code be sent to your mobile phones if you do not have the app installed.  you just have to make sure that your phone is always with you when you access your account.

it may be an inconvenience, but it is better to be vigilant.  let us not be a victim of online hacking.
