hair removal at skin station

Published October 1, 2014 by ladyemelye

ever since i have hit puberty, i started shaving my underarms.  i do not like plucking or waxing, so i sticked to shaving.  however, the friction caused by this process causes my underarm to darken, plus the fact that it is high maintenance.  i have to shave at least every 3 days.

i looked for several painless hair removal options in group buying sites, but i was hesitant since some of the “clinics” were unknown to me or were far from my location.  i also tried inquiring in several establishments but i found the price a little too steep.

finally, i found skin station.  they offered a painless hair removal promo.  the package included 8 sessions for just php 5000.00, which you could also avail via installment plan in your credit card.  another plus factor was that they used diode instead of IPL.  so last year, as a birthday gift to myself, i availed of the package.

before your first session, you will be briefed on what you should/shouldn’t do before and after your diode session.  each session is separated by a 6 to 8 week interval to make sure that they will be able to target most of the hair.  a session lasts from 10-15 minutes for the underarms.  there is no irritable feeling at all during and after the session.  the wand might get a little hot during the session, but you can always tell your therapist regarding this so that she could add some gel to lessen the heat.

they use state-of-the-art alma soprano machine for the procedure.  according to the website, this is the gold standard in diode laser technology, so you can be assured that you are getting the best.

the results depend of course on each person.  some are virtually hair free before the 8th session.  as for me, i still have some underarm hair although they are very slow in growth and are already very thin that you can barely notice them.  according to the therapist i might need 2-3 more sessions.  after that, i will just be needing regular maintenance procedures.  so i availed another 8-session package. 🙂

for those looking for a cheap but high quality painless hair removal, i highly recommend that you go to your nearest skin station branch.  they usually have promo/packages for the different services that they offer.  the staff are very friendly and helpful to assist you if you have inquiries.

wham!

Published June 28, 2010 by ladyemelye
after buying our tickets to IMAX, hubby and i decided to try this newly opened food joint in SM Mall of Asia… Wham!
The interior was of warm red, yellow and orange colors reflecting comic book like illustrations. You can choose to sit on usual chairs and tables, or opt for the sofa.
Junjun ordered the hungarian sausage sandwich (Php 85.00), and i ordered the wham burger with cheese (Php 102.00).
The hungarian sausage was huge. The taste was ok with just the right amount of kick from being spicy.
the wham burger with cheese was very good. the 1/3 pound beef patty was grilled, and it was very flavorful and juicy. i also like the veggies and the dressing that came with the burger.
overall, the price was worth its value. one will be very full after eating the sandwiches they offer. you could also order sidings such as fries.
the MOA branch was a little hot though, i think there was something wrong with the airconditioning.
if you are looking for a good burger, this could be worth trying out.

frostings cupcakes

Published October 25, 2009 by ladyemelye

These past days, i have been craving for a carrot cake. Yesterday, when Junjun & i went to SM MoA to buy my new shoes, we decided to look around for a carrot cake.

What we stumbled upon is a cupcake shop named frostings.

The stall is located near the skating rink. They offered a wide variety of cupcakes which are categorized as regular, fruit, premium and extra premium.

We decided to get a carrot cupcake and a lava cupcake.

I liked their carrot cake. It was not too sweet, and you can really taste and see the shreded carrots in the cupcake. There were also huge chunks of walnuts inside the cupcake which gave it texture. The frosting was also a nice complement to the cake.

The lava cupcake was a chocolate cupcake with fudge in the middle. The chocolate cupcake was good since it was not too sweet. The fudge tasted like some liquor was added to it. I liked the frosting and the candy sprinkles in it.

The next time we stop by Mall of Asia, i will try out the other variants of their cupcakes.

california nail and day spa

Published May 8, 2009 by ladyemelye

Last saturday, i decided to try out the newly-opened california nail and day spa at SM Malll of Asia.

When you enter their shop, you will be greeted by friendly front desk staff asking you what service you want. The place is nicely decorated, and is very girlish in their motiff colors of pink, purple and white. i also liked the chandelier that was hanging in the ceiling.

I opted to get only a pedicure. I seated for a while at the waiting area, and then i was introduced to the nail technician who will be doing my nails.

The nail technician was very friendly and efficient at what she does. She asks me everytime regarding what i want to be done with my pedicure like if i want my cuticles cleaned, my nails filed or cut, etc.

I opted to use the Orly nail polish for an additional of Php 20.00. The technician recommended it since it lasts long and does not chip. I chose the red color, which my feet look nice and clean.

The chair where i sat while i was being serviced was very comfy. After nail polish was applied, cute little electric fans were used to speed up the drying process. The bill also arrived in a tray, so that you don’t have to get up and go to the front desk for payment.

For Php 220.00+, i could say that i was satisfied with my pedicure since it included feet scrubbing and a massage.

Other services include nail art, paraffin, spa manicure/pedicure, facials and massages.

If you want to indulge and pamper yourself, this is one place you could go to.
