Published October 14, 2012 by ladyemelye

last june 17 (i know… i have a lot of blog backlogs ūüė¶ ) i got to try a milktea place along alabang-zapote road. ¬†it was called Cobo: Awesome Possibiliteas.

cobo signage

for the drinks, they offered a lot of varieties: bubble burstea, bubble burst smoothies, cobo sea salt, sooosmoothy, premium pressoteas, krazee koffee, jello fruit tea and of course milk teas.

they also have snow cream and cobo crunch.  for the crunch these include taiwanese chicken (in various flavors) and taiwanese dimsum like kuchai dumplings, sharksfin and pork siomai.

drink prices range from Php 60.00 to Php 100.00 depending on the flavor and add ons that you choose.  snacks are Php 49.00 (dimsum) and Php 70.00 (chicken).

menu and counter

the dining area is cozy with a number of colorful chairs and tables. ¬†one can hang out here, have a snack, meet with friends, plus they have free wi-fi. ūüėČ

since i just had lunch when we stopped by this store, i opted to order one of the premium pressoteas.  i ordered the rose tie guanyin (16oz).  this also included pearl and cocochew.  you also have the option to change the sugar level based on your preference Рextra mild, mild, average or intense.  you could also choose to substitute to coco sugar for an additional Php 15.00.

rose tie guanyin milk tea – Php 85.00

the drink had a nice, strong tea flavor to it, but unfortunately i was not able to taste the “rose” part. ¬†i will go back here to try other drinks, and also the snacks.

subi-monte cafe

Published May 20, 2012 by ladyemelye

one friday night, junjun and i decided to have dinner at a cafe 10 minutes away from our house, subi-monte cafe.

the name of the cafe are from chavacano words which means “mountain climbing.”

the cafe offers a wide range of appetizers, rice meals, pasta, sandwiches and pizza. ¬†also they have a selection of coffee and tea based drinks. ¬†they have “frappuccino” type of drinks and also the “milk tea” type.

here is what we ordered:

fish n’ fries – php 99.00

hickory spareribs – php 145.00

honey mustard liempo – php 130.00

strawberry peach iced tea and blueberry lime iced tea – php 50.00 each

the fish and fries were for matteo.  the fries were ok and was not too oily.  the fish fingers were good, it was a little bit salty which was complemented when dipped into the mustard sauce.

i ordered the spareribs, and it was flavorful.  although i had a little hard time getting the meat off the bone.

junjun’s order was the liempo, and according to him it was tender and the flavor was good.

we both loved the cheesy corn sidings that was included in each rice meal.

the iced tea was refreshing. ¬†i think they used flavored tea bags + syrup to achieve their variants. ¬†for example the tag on my tea was “peach” plus they added strawberry syrup (flavoring).

overall our experience was good.  the ambience in the cafe was nice and service was also efficient.  next time around, i would like to try other items in their menu, especially their drinks.

and yes, they have free wi-fi connection. ūüėČ
